HCG Diet Getting Started Guide

How to Get Started on HCG Diet injections for Weight Loss

Step 1 Get Your Head Into It

What do I mean when I say “Get You Head Into It”? Make sure you are absolutely ready to follow the HCG diet completely. Your commitment will help insure your success. If you’re going into it already planning on cheating or wondering if you are going to be able to stick to the HCG food plan, then you’re probably not ready. I was successful because I stuck to the HCG diet religiously. If you’re not 100% committed to following the HCG Diet Plan, then you should probably wait.

How Do You Know If You Are Ready For The HCG Diet

Something I used to witness at our office, was how many individuals came in thinking that HCG was magic, and that because the diet incorporates a doctor prescribed medication, that the rest didn’t matter. Simply by signing up, it seemed that some felt that they were guaranteed to lose weight. You would be shocked by how many individuals would call us saying the HCG didn’t work, and that they wanted their money back. Upon questioning them about the diet, 100% of the individuals who claimed the HCG was “bad” or that it didn’t work, didn’t actually follow the diet. Some claimed they ate the correct foods, but not in the correct portions or amount. Other claimed they simply ate whatever they wanted. And of course, there are also those who said they followed it perfectly, but come to find out, they didn’t understand the diet. Some would site right through the training with the nutritionist, the prescription with the doctor, and ignore everything we told them, because they had it in their mind that they were going to magically lose weight.

The HCG Diet Protocol works if you follow the protocol, with 100% compliance. You just have to make sure you are completely dedicated to doing whatever is necessary to make sure you are successful.

Get Your Mind Right!

Step 2 Determine How Much Weight You Have To Lose

Get your weight, and your goal weight. If you have never been down to weight that you are comfortable with, it’s best just to set a conservative preliminary goal. Remember you can always re-assess your goals later, as you continue on your successful path of weight loss on HCG Injections.

How Fast Can You Lost Weight On The HCG Diet?

After you have determined a weight loss goal, figure out how long it should take to lose it. Be conservative here as well. Often, individuals get caught up on what a friend or family member lost while on the HCG Diet, and think it should be exactly the same. Every person is different, and has a different metabolic rate, body mass, fat mass, activity levels, and genetic. Also, remember that the heavier a person is, the faster they can generally lose weight. Don’t expect to lose weight as fast as someone who weighs 50-100lbs more than you. Their body will inevitably burn more calories than you, because their body has more mass to sustain. You have probably often heard that muscle burns calories, well so does fat tissue, and the hear, and brain, and pretty much all of your living tissue. It all burns calories, and contributes to a different metabolic rate.

Cmon Gals and Guys, Be Realistic

For starters, HCG isn’t magic, and the diet doesn’t magically work exactly the same for each person as long as you follow it to the letter. For most, burning between 2-5 lbs is normal on the HCG Diet. If you are a woman who only weighs 150 lbs to start however, you will probably not lost 3-5 lbs per week. You will likely lose more like 2 lbs per week.

Step 3 Set a Goal

Planning is a key element to weight loss. If you don’t plan, you plan to fail. Also, remember you aren’t only planning on how much weight you will lose, or how much HCG you are supposed to take. You should keep the following factors in mind in your planning process.

  • Determing your goal date (this may change along the way)
  • Find a support team or partner to do the diet with
  • Have backup plans for when things get tough
  • PLAN for rewards (not only from losing weight, but from following through on compliance)

Step 4 Find a Diet Plan that Works for You

Plan your diet a little. Decide what foods will work best for you, and go out and purchase them before you even start. Choose foods that are nutrient dense, yet satisfy you. Choose foods that you love, yet keep you full and don’t cause you to overeat or want more.

For reference, before you order HCG Injections, check out the HCG diet plan and the food list. Choose the foods that you know will fill you up, satisfy you, and make you happy.

Step 5 Find a Medical Provider and Order a HCG Diet Kit

To be totally honest, the suppliers we recomend, give us a very small kickback for each client we send their way. Rest assured that we actually care about our followers, and we stand 100% behind those that we work with. Not only that, we have used each HCG Diet Provider that we recomend on our website. We have even tested the HCG (via pregnancy strips) each provider and found that they come up positive for HCG in their product.

Pure, Pharmacy HCG Injections

This is great news, because there are a LOT of people who get ripped off online. There are a lot of bunk suppliers in China, India, etc, that rip a lot of people off. Some people go through the entire diet not knowing how much easier it SHOULD have been because they are basically intecting water into their system, and staving themselves to lose weight.

Understanding Low Carb Dieting and hCG

In 1972, Robert Atkins started a diet revolution when he introduced the Atkins Low Carbohydrate Diet. His diet went against all the accepted diet methods at the time, and created quite a bit of controversy, some of which still exists. Fortunately, since then, there have been numerous studies and trials showing that the low carbohydrate method, IF DONE RIGHT, is a valuable tool in the weight loss world.

If Done RightIt should be noted, that by simply following a low carbohydrate diet for an extended period of time, you may not get the results you want. Why? The body is adaptive to anything we do to it. If we eat low carb, low fat, low protein, or low everything, eventually the body will compensate for the loss or increase of whatever it is getting or not getting. This is the problem that Dr. Atkins ran into with the Atkins Diet. We now know that the key to successful dieting is learning how to control this basic function. How to Control the “Control” SystemIt should be mentioned again that by simply following a low carbohydrate diet for an extended period of time, you may not get the results you want, especially as you get leaner and leaner. The body has a regulatory system that allows it to adjust calorie usage based on the total amount of available calories. Total calories can be broken into two types … 1) calories stored on the body as body fat, and 2) calories being consumed. The method the body uses to control the metabolic rate is based on a set of hormones. If calories are too low for too long, the body adapts by reducing fat loss hormones, thereby reducing the body’s overall fat burning power. Low Calories = Slow Metabolism. And yet, the most important nutrient responsible for keeping the metabolic rate roaring is carbohydrates. So what do we do?

Understanding Low Carb Dieting

Carbohydrate Cycling and HCG Injections It’s possible to control all of these hormones in a way that will give you the results you want. It has to do with cycling your calories. Nutritionists and dieticians have now learned that there are enormous benefits when we cycle calories to control hormone levels, while also keeping the metabolic rate high. The answer is PLANNED ‘Diet Breaks’, or what we will call, ‘Cheat Meals’. By incorporating ‘Cheat Meals’ the right way, a person is able to maximize hormones for fat loss.

HCG Cheat Meals

The most important consideration when deciding how often you need a ‘Cheat Meal’, and how big it needs to be is overall weight. The leaner or lighter you are, the more you will need cheats. Why? Because the body adapts to the overall available calories. If you have more calories available, including dietary calories and stored calories, the body doesn’t attempt to conserve as much. Because of this, heavier individuals can go for longer periods of time without ‘cheats’ or ‘breaks’ from a diet.

Cheat Meals– Respect them

A Cheat Meal lasts 1 full hour, or the time it takes to finish a meal…NOT throughout the evening. Eat sensibly, but you may eat pretty much any food that you normally avoid. Also, keep the portions reasonable.

Cheat Meal Guidelines for Best Results

  1. Eat foods high in carbohydrates, because carbohydrates have the strongest effect on metabolic rate.
  2. Don’t hold back or try to restrict. The object is to allow the body to replenish glycogen (sugar) stores in the muscle tissue, and provide enough calories for the body to adapt.
  3. Make sure the ‘cheat’ is only as long as needed. This will change from person to person, and will change as your body fat drops. The general idea is that the leaner you get, the more often you will need ‘Cheat Meals’.
  4. Don’t expect to lose weight rapidly all the way to the last few pounds. When weight loss slows down, which is normal, many dieters will overreact and restrict calories even more. This is counterproductive. You are actually giving the body more of a reason to slow down the fat loss. Instead, you will need more frequent cheat meals as you get closer to your goal, because the body becomes more resistant to fat loss.

Cheat Meal Frequency

  • 10 to 30 pounds to lose … 1 per week
  • 40 to 60 pounds to lose … 1 per month
  • 60 to 80 pounds to lose … 1 every 2 months
  • 80 or more pounds to lose … No Cheat Meals, or rarely

HCG Diet Side Effects

Are there any HCG Diet Dangers that I should Know About?

Over the last few years the HCG Diet has recieved a lot of attention. Some of the attention is great, and some was not so great. After all, any diet that requires the dieter to eat 500 calories per day, take daily Injections, and promises 30 lbs of weight loss in a month is bound to catch some strong oppinions.
That leads us to our next problem. Most of the information out there is based on opinion, and there are very few valid sources that offer unbiased truth. Most people are either trying to sell you something, or they are trying to elicit attention by debating a controversial subject. The truth of the matter is that there are Doctors that support the diet, and others that don’t. One thing that stands strong are the testimonials. Educating yourself about the HCG Diet dangers is important, but you should hear the whole story. While you are at it, take a loot at our personal HCG weight loss success stories.

Is 500 Calories Too Low?

For starters, I need to correct myself. Although Dr. Simeons designed the diet with 500 calories over 50 years ago, very few providers offer anything lower than 800 calories per day. In fact, 800-1200 calories is more typical nowdays. This has been a widely debated topic, and for good reason. Is the HCG Diet Dangerous? Not if you are under doctor supervision. Is 800 calories enough for anyone to live on? Well, no. But that isn’t the point, right? The point of a diet, is to help you lose weight over a set period of time. After the weight is lost, the dieter then returns to eating at maintenance. If we were to judge any weight loss plan, based on it’s ability to be sustained forever, all weight loss plans would fail. The only way to lose weight, is a calorie deficit. You have to be eating less calories than you are burning. After the weight5 is lost, you then switch gears, and match calorie intake to carolie output.

The 500 Calorie HCG Diet

The only way to lose weight is to create a calorie deficit. This can be done with diet, or exercise. Regardless of how you do it, the point is to eat less calories than the body burns, and allow the body to get the rest of the calories from fat. That’s how fat storage works. In times when food is scarce, fat provides calories. In this way, the body is STILL GETTING CALORIES. The difference is that the calories are coming from fat. When fat stores are gone, then yes, each individual should then resume eating a maintenance level of calories. For most individuals who have a lot of weight to lose, a large calorie deficit is perfectly safe. Not only that, but HCG actually supports and spares lean body mass during the HCG Diet.

Are HCG Injections Safe?

Lets cut to the chase now. What HCG Diet Dangers should I be concerned with?Possible Side Effects:
  • Headache
  • Restlesness
  • Tiredness
  • Pain at the injection site
Tell your doctor if any of these unlikely side effects occur:

Anyone with a history of cancer or tumors should NOT do the HCG Diet.
In conclustion, I should note that even though there are very few HCG Diet Dangers, you should be careful who you start the HCG Diet Protocol with. HCG should be prescribed by a Doctor, and should be provided by FDA regulated pharmacy.

The HCG Diet Plan

The HCG Diet is actually a very simple diet program that requires the dieter to buy HCG Injections, and use them on a daily basis.

When the HCG Diet Plan was originally introduced by Dr. Simeons, the diet was restricted to only 500 calories. Keep in mind that the HCG Diet first came out over 50 years ago. Since then, the world of nutrition science moved lightyears ahead of where it was, and any healthcare professional or nutritionist knows that the 500 calorie HCG Diet is very low. While the 500 calorie HCG Diet Plan works for some, it is not as sustaingable for the HCG Diet. Today, most dieters use the 800 Calorie HCG Diet. Below, we will outline the 800 Calorie HCG Diet Plan.

Phases of the HCG Diet

The HCG Diet is categorized into 4 phases:

  • Phase 1: Loading

During the Loading Phase the dieter will take HCG Injections each morning and eat as much as they can for two full days. This overeating period with HCG Shots will maximize fat loss hormones and prime the body to start burning fat. Glycogen stores in the liver and muscle will be filled to capacity, and the body will begin burning more calories. Carbohydrates are especially important in this phase.

  • Phase 2: Low Calorie Diet

Phase 2 is run in rounds of 4-6 weeks, and between each round the dieter should take a 2-3 week diet break. The Diet Break is outlined in Phase 3. The length of the round should mostly be determined by the rate at which you are losing weight. If weight loss is too slow during the fourth week, it’s likely that the body needs a diet break. However, if you are still losing weight at a fast pace (3-4lbs per week), you could continue on for a total of 6 weeks.

  • Phase 3: Diet Break

Phase 3 is a controlled diet break between the Phase 2 HCG Diet rounds which lasts 3 weeks. This break allows the body to again recognize an increase of calories, in order to increase metabolic rate. During this phase, It is recommended to have an extra serving of protein any time of the day, and add 40g serving of starchy carbohydrates toward the end of the day. This will keep insulin sensitivity high, and precent you from being hungry throughout the day. Starchy carbs include the following:

    • Potatoes – 1 medium
    • Rice – 1 cup, cooked
    • Oatmeal – 1 cup, cooked
    • Quinoa – 1 cup, cooked
    • Whole Wheat Bread – 2 slices
    • Pasta – 1 cup

  • Phase 4: Transition and Maintenance

After a dieter has achieved their highest level of success with the HCG Diet, they will proceed to follow the Transition and Maintenance Phase. Because each person is different, we VERY strongly recomend speaking with a diet coach that specializes in the HCG Diet.
