  4. Don’t expect to lose weight rapidly all the way to the last few pounds. When weight loss slows down, which is normal, many dieters will overreact and restrict calories even more. For starters, I need to correct myself. Although Dr. Simeons designed the diet with 500 calories over 50 years ago, very few providers offer anything lower than 800 calories per day. The only way to lose weight is to create a calorie deficit. This can be done with diet, or exercise. Regardless of how you do it, the point is to eat less calories than the body burns, and allow the body to get the rest of the calories from fat. That’s how fat storage works. In times when food is scarce, fat provides calories. In this way, the body is STILL GETTING CALORIES. The difference is that the calories are coming from fat. When fat stores are gone, then yes, each individual should then resume eating a maintenance level of calories. Phases of the HCG Diet

The HCG Diet is categorized into 4 phases:

  • Phase 1: Loading
